Join Jim and Greg as they react to the breaking news of a massive explosion in Beirut, Lebanon. They also discuss President Trump’s comments on COVID, John Lewis and more in his Axios interview. And they hammer the federal judge who just ignored election law by ordering officials to count ballots that were not received by election day.

On Republican suspicions about voting by mail …

Voting in person is more reliable, from the standpoint of the voter. If he’s not sure what to do, there are poll workers there to guide him.

Whereas, in that recent — well, not so recent any more — Democratic Congressional primary by mail that the guys mentioned, something like 10% of the ballots were rejected because of mistakes, like leaving off the signature. It also took several weeks for all the ballots to arrive.

By actually showing up at the polls, Republicans will be more likely to have their votes counted.

Incidentally, in a recent vote-by-mail school bond election here in upstate New York, I received my mail ballot too late for me to possibly return it on time. Even if I checked my PO box every day (which I don’t).

Was this intentional? Probably no. Could Democrats use this to depress voting in Republican areas? Probably yes.

Has anyone compared video of the Beirut explosion to those produced by a Daisy-Cutter or MOAB?

In any event, that explosion was really nothing like what happened on 9/11.
