Happy Reagan’s Birthday everyone!  Today, Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America applaud Vice President Mike Pence for bringing Otto Warmbier’s father as his guest to the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in South Korea and keeping the focus on North Korean repression in the midst of the communist regime’s charm offensive during in the games.  They’re also exasperated as President Trump gives his political opponents and the media new fodder for criticism as Trump flippantly suggests Democrats were treasonous for not applauding good news during his State of the Union address last week.  And they’re deeply frustrated as an illegal immigrant previously deported for drunk driving is now charged with the death of Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson and his Uber driver – once again while drunk and in the U.S. illegally.  They also slam the media for biased coverage of the immigration debate, dismissing stories like this and focusing almost exclusively on the success stories of young people in the nation illegally.

I think it was about 2008, I heard a discussion on the radio when an area cop (I don’t remember if it was Raleigh PD, Wake Co. Sheriff or NCHP) was punished, as his arrests for DUI were “disproportionately” Hispanic: 23% of his DUI arrests were Hispanic, vs 13% of the population. Even after it was pointed out that 24% of DUI accidents involved Hispanics (thus, it seems his arrest percentage was almost perfect), his punishment was upheld, as he was deemed to have a racial bias simply because of the 23%/13% disparity.

One Hispanic Rights Activist even said (in a really strong Valley Girl accent) – “Well, ya kno-o-o-w, Mexicans really shouldn’t even be arrested for drunk driving…”

    “Why is that?”

“Well, drunk driving really isn’t a big deal in Mexico, so there’s no reason they should know any different here.”

Do you remember this, @blondie ?

Perhaps the charge of treason has been cheapened by the fact that he has been charged with that, without evidence and everyday from Day 1 one of his presidency, by most of the Democratic party and 90% of the news media. Turnabout is fair play. Call it “deterrence.”

Guys, I love listening but I think you completely missed it on the Trump “treason” remark.  It seemed to me that he was completely trolling and mocking all those on the left who have done nothing but scream “TREASON!” for everything the President does.  You are taking this far too seriously.
