Good discussion, but the first question began with a factual error. The “protests” (more like an attempted invasions) at the Gaza border didn’t begin on the day of, and nor were they set off solely by the ceremony marking the moving of the US embassy to Jerusalem. They’ve had several “Days of Rage” protests/attempted invasions going back to at least late last year for various reasons including the Nakba, as well as their own stated desire to simply invade and kill as many Israelis as possible. Media outlets that used a split screen or side by side photos to juxtapose the embassy ceremony with the attempted border invasion did their best to make the embassy move the sole cause of the “protests”, but Hamas was attacking the border before that and they’ll be attacking the border in the days and years to come.
