Really excellent.
He can combine common sense, political savvy and rigorous legal argument.
I listened to the podcast. Not every word as I skipped around waiting to hear Richard’s solution to the illegal immigration problem. I did hear him say he sees republicans getting more of the Hispanic vote. That is true, but how much more?
What republicans should be doing is pushing for improvements in the economy and democracy for Hispanics in their home countries. It would have been a great accomplishment if Trump had taken out the corrupt rulers of Venezuela. ( which is a very important unreported story ). And encourage American businesses to expand their operations in Central America.
Neocon-ism and globalism have been tried already. Look around. They are all crappy countries with what amounts to crappy cultures with respect to governance and we consume too many hard drugs.
Republicans should run on policy of enforcing drug laws. On users and dealers. In terms of crappy governance, China, Russia, Iran are allies with those who hold power in poor countries. Not a neo con if you want the people of Venezuela to run their own country.
Total, 100%, fiscal hamster wheel that is massively complicated by fentanyl. All we have done is grow the cartels. Now they don’t even need the drug business.
Even if you could get rid of their organized crime problem, the whole thing is still cartel-sized. All of the political systems are dishonest. I think Panama and Costa Rica are OK but they can generate that much activity. Everything else is a very heavy lift for a variety of.
We should have invaded Cuba instead of Iraq and just ran the whole thing like a plantation.
