Once again I could barely last 5 minutes into this podcast. McWhorter did show a glimmer of integrity in admitting that Biden is definitively incapable of holding the office of POTUS. However, his stating the obvious that Trump exaggerates and out and out lies while he is totally blind to Biden’s pathological prevarications just struck me as total hypocrisy. Why is it that Liberals are so incapable of simply stating the truth? Sure, Trump is a liar, an appalling liar, but so is Biden. The biggest difference is that most of Trump’s lies are exaggerations, Biden’s pure fantasies about he would like to see his administration, like his entering office at a time when inflation was at 9%, or his federal rent management, and on and on.
I am simply unwilling to grant a minute of my time to someone who is as oblivious to reality as is his party’s leader.
That is what gets me to Never Trump crowd. Biden has all of the bad qualities of Trump – loudmouth, braggart, liar plus his is more corrupt and his policies are a disaster
It appears to me that both Anthony Weiner and John Kerry might be used as examples of political climbing through romantic relationships.
Kerry used his marriages for cash – Kerry made his money the real old-fashioned way – he married into money to someone who married into money (Theresa Heinz Kerry) to someone who inherited their money (Heinz)
On a long road trip recently, I took in a couple of episodes of NPR’s “All Things Considered”. Like McWhorter (and Loury!) they see Trump’s alleged lies and Biden’s growing incompetence as equally disqualifying.
They treat this as somehow self-evident, never bothering to explain why (or bothering to give a single example of a Trump “lie”).
To which I say, “So what?” If Trump kept Putin from invading Ukraine for four years by lying to him, more power to him.
N.B.: Trump is the only US President who successfully deterred Putin from invading any of his neighbors.
