Sometimes you have to take risks. Is there a risk for a conservative podcast to have a liberal guest? Is there a risk for a liberal guest to go on a conservative podcast? Of course. But when both sides are going to have a conversation, things work out. Former Barack Obama speechwriter, Jon Favreau and co-host of Pod Save America joined Jay and Neal to talk about the political divide, Donald Trump, where Democrats and Republicans can work together and the overall state of our political culture. Listen in. You’ll enjoy it!

You guys voted for Evan McMullin, so I would say you are liberals. There’s no contradiction in having Favreau in the show.

I appreciate the dialogue with someone from “the other side”. I was however disappointed with the interview. Two moments stuck out:

When discussing Obamacare and what’s happening in Ohio Favreau stated something to the effect of not wanting the public option “immediately”. I was anticipating a follow up question about “eventually”? That hits on conservative suspicions that the inevitable momentum is toward governmentally run healthcare.

Earlie you stated conservatives were a minority in the Republican Party. During the interview Favreau felt the major political conflict in the US was not Left/Right but Democrat/Republican. At the end of the podcast you discussed how conservatives can have dialogue with those on the Left. The harder issue if how Democrats can have dialogue with Republicans. I don’t believe this interview furthered that cause.
