Following the shooting of Republican Congressman Steve Scalise and others at baseball practice by a person who is believed to have had a political motivation, the debate about political rhetoric was resurrected. Jay and Neal spoke with Editor-In-Chief of The Daily Wire Ben Shapiro about that issue as well as political tribalism and the lunacy of so-called “conservatives” acting out like leftists because it’s “war.”

I’ll wait for you to redact “so-called conservatives.”

You’ll be waiting for some time. Mike Cernovich and Jack Pobosiec are not conservatives.

Evan McMullin is not a conservative and you voted for him. Can I repost the evidence or will it be removed?

Actually, I would be interested in that evidence.

It is very interesting how people say who is and who is not a conservative. People have used the phrase Conservative-Populist. That’s absurd. Populism is as far from conservative as one can get. Populism is pretty dangerous, actually. Nobody can really define it. It is demagoguery.

Donald Trump, for example, has done several conservative things, but that doesn’t make him a conservative. Dennis Prager, who Ben Shapiro mentioned in the interview, thinks he is the final answer when it comes to saying who is a conservative, and who is not. And, yet, I question his credentials. Conservatism is more than a listing of positions. It is about character also, and manners, and other intangibles, which, I hate to say, our current President doesn’t seem to understand.

This was a great episode. Ben Shapiro is a brilliant young man!

I’ve missed “talking” to you, Lois. I tried writing a message to you. But, when I tried to send it, and put Lois Lane in the box, it would’t go through. I hope you are well?!

Evan McMullin is at least a decent human being unlike our unfortunate president.

I think we have to be “friends” to send mail back and forth. I have some friends, but I don’t know how to request someone BE my friend. Does anyone else here know how to do this? Then you can send messages…

And yes. Ben Shapiro is brilliant. More importantly, he’s intellectually consistent and very much a conservative.

I agree. I don’t understand why people insist on bashing him. While I would prefer he run for Congress now rather than raise money for a PAC because Donald Trump is president, and that’s that, I respect Evan McMullin for standing up for his principles when/how he did. I think it took a great deal of courage actually.

    Good observation, Lois.

You know, I despair that some people on our side use tactics from the left. I’ve always said that name-calling is a playground tactic. I personally want nothing to do with people who do this sort of thing. I don’t care how much they might agree with me on this or that. Name calling is not only childish, it is cowardly. It is for people who do not know how to make an argument.

By the way, I don’t know to make a friend request either. Maybe it has something to do with finding a particular member, and asking if he or she wants to be your friend. Sort of like Facebook, maybe? Anyway, I did find a way to add my picture, so I did that. ?
