Michele Tafoya: Keep Calm and Carry On

Coronavirus and the reactions to it are causing a lot of stress in our daily lives. How we react to that pressure is crucial. Michele Tafoya is the Sideline Reporter for “Sunday Night Football” on NBC, following success with ESPN, ABC, and CBS. She also has become an advocate for the ancient philosophy of Stoicism and has helped spread it through the NFL. Jon asks Michele how Stoic principles help her through tough times and her perspective on the temporary shutdown of professional sports.

The intro/outro song of the week is, of course, “Stoic Resemblance” by The Helio Sequence. To listen to all the music featured on The Conservatarians this year, subscribe to our Spotify playlist!

Excellent (and different) choice for an interview. Ms. Tafoya has always been a welcome change from the legions of other reporters, most of whom seem to be from a casting call for women of a certain color hair. I’m not surprised that she’s into something interesting because her intelligence comes across on the air. She and Pam Oliver (“mature” for their profession) are the two best IMO.

Plus one to all of this. I really like women who can talk about pro football intelligently without being self-conscious or in-your-face about being female (it’s not easy).

I miss Pam Oliver on Fox (I can’t take Erin Andrews seriously). Maybe @exjon can add her to his list of potential guests…
