Jon, all four of my grandparents were Finnish immigrants. I have two playlists of depressing songs, one in English and one in Spanish. Thanks for introducing me to Calexico.
And I will be thinking about you and praying for you as you deal with the loss of your father. Thanks for sharing your good memories of him.
Condolences on the loss of your father.

Man, its a genius idea… Have a March Madness debate week — every night have a small group debate – in the middle of the show give a code so that those who watch the debate can call in and vote for the winner – at the end of the week the candidates with the most votes, get to debate…
MSNBC or CNN would kill for that … a solid week of prime time political news – cheap ratings brass…
The debaters going to the event…..
Jon,
What a wonderful song to pay tribute to your dad. Lost my mom last August to same, she too loved to go to the honky tonks (yes, we’re from TX) to listen to the outlaw types. Jerry Jeff Walker was one of her faves.
It’s cool you listened to all the music to remind you of your dad and you’ll have many more of those to come! My sister was just visiting over the weekend and we did just that, so if you’ve yet to do that with your siblings…be prepared for some laughter and sadness, fighting over whose turn it is to play their favorite memory, more laughter and sadness.
Great tribute song to your dad!!!
Suck it up Morrissey, because he can be a necessary evil during those down times. Lol!
