Moviegoing in the age of WuFlu:
Go to the second matinee, especially on a weekday, and sit all the way in the back in the nosebleed section.
Generally attending the more sparsely occupied screenings, I rarely run into noisy moviegoers. However, when it happens, it’s usually the young, with perhaps a slight trend toward minorities.
If you mean like a balcony, theaters close those first whenever there’s any kind of problem. They probably don’t want to have to bother cleaning them.
It’s tiring listening to Mr. Last cheering for Biden and the WuFlu but I guess that’s what it takes to work for the Bulwark. Fortunately Vic and Sonny more than make up for it.
I haven’t seen a balcony in use in a movie theater in decades — except an art house in upstate New York that converted the balcony into an additional screening room!
The nosebleed section I was referring to is the row farthest from the screen in a theater with stadium seating.
I think JVL loves Layer Cake more than I love my family.
Sonny works there now too…
Alas I saw that last week and heard it on the podcast. He’s the cultural editor so he should be able to stay away from politics.
If only Rebeler Media had been a success, then Sonny wouldn’t need to sink so low.
