Hollywood Has a Pedophilia Problem

Kira, Teri, and April are joined by Gabe Hoffman, producer of the documentary An Open Secret, to talk about Hollywood’s very serious – and very rampant – pedophilia problem. If you thought Harvey Weinstein was the biggest villain in Hollywood, just wait until you hear what Gabe has to say.

Just sickening. They should have to put those disclaimers on movies the way they do with animals: “No children or adults were harmed or sexually abused in the making of this movie”.

    Right? How sad is that?

I just watched this on Vimeo. I recommend it.

I was thinking about Different Strokes/Todd Bridges right before it started, and that is what they started with.

Yes! Now it makes so much sense why actors like Todd Bridges have struggled so much. Awful.

Watched the movie on vimeo yesterday; so glad it was still left up. Very well done, very powerful.

I don’t recall exactly how it was framed on the podcast between the four of you, but it definitely seems there is a strong sense of projection coming out of Hollywood, DC, and NYC. Spending all of this time in their culture – one rife with open secrets on a variety of despicable behaviors and enabling by compliant HR departments (e.g., Fox News) – they assume it is just that much worse for the unenlightened flyovers.

While obviously sin and destructive behavior know no bounds – the Penn State/Sandusky scandal is proof enough of that – I believe there is much less acceptance of it than the Hollywood/DC/NYC axis realize. Perhaps it’s the glamour factor, but I think people are much less likely to accept bad behavior in return for a “regular” job – especially in a mid-sized city where there are more opportunities. Individual cases, yes. Institutionalized and tacitly accepted by the community, very rare.

I agree! LA/DC/NYC are all part of the same bubble — and seem to be accepting of the kind of vile behavior that most Americans would reject.
