You’re a little off on the Ellen thing…
Its maybe a little difference, but she wasnt setting up the question as a “MMS” game… (Murder, Marry Screw) – if you havent heard of the game – in a list of 3 names you pick which category each person falls into. I know its childish. But Harris went there all on her own, she wasnt lead there.
I also wanted to comment on the Kennedy response to the state of the union. I thought it was brave – I mean for a Kennedy to be photographed with a convertible in the background. I mean things havent worked out well with Kennedy’s and convertibles. (too soon?) I think the appearance should have deterred his higher office aspirations.
They should re-write the song “We Dont need another hero” to “We Dont need another Kennedy/Clinton/Bush” I believe there is another George Bush paying his dues in the south somewhere. (Florida if I am not mistaking)
I think Facebook will be gone much quicker than 5 years. Twitter even sooner, Twitter has been losing money hand over fist for a decade, its been openly for sale for about 2 years, but nobody has put together a valuation for the company that makes sense. These companies dont need to be replaced – they can just go bankrupt and disappear. When a service is free, you’re not the customer, you’re the product.
The next President will be a healing figure? Kira, April and Teri have short memories.
They forget Barack Obama ran as a healing figure. Once in office, however, he went out of his way to exacerbate racial tensions.
As a Democrat politician, he had no choice in the matter. Democrats can’t improve the education system that is ruining black kids’ life prospects because the teachers unions would object. They can’t stop the flood of immigrants that is taking jobs away from American blacks because the progressives, who see immigration as a battering ram to destroy America as it exists today, would object.
So how can the Democrats get that overwhelming black vote that they absolutely need, even as they continue to screw over blacks? Answer: Make them afraid.
And if the next President is a Republican? Will the media allow him to be a healing figure? Not hardly. They say nice things about a Republican only if a) he has retired; or b) he is causing division in the Republican Party (e.g., Jeff Flake, Rand Paul, John McCain back in the day). They are friendly to Mitt Romney right now only because they see him as a potential thorn in the side of Pres. Trump. If Romney became the Republican nominee for President again, he would turn right back into Hitler overnight.
Its not that they Can’t improve the system – they know how – its just that they Won’t. They’re not about education, they’re about educators, administrators and blue-ribbon commissions. Keep the gravy train rolling – for themselves and their cronies. They know how to fix education, balance the budget, send men back to the moon – and Mars. They could do it all – however they’re too afraid, too timid.
I was looking back at presidents the other day – how they demonize republicans, only to strangely gain respect for them, when they’re retired or dead. General Eisenhower organized the D Day landings, but as president was called lazy and stupid by the press. Possibly the greatest general in modern history – was a defective president. He also got 45% of the black vote.
Could you imagine a Republican getting 45% of the black vote? Even in California there would not even be a democrat dog catcher left in office.
As for next republican president… I like Marco Rubio, he seems like a decent guy, and I liked him in the primaries this last time (along with Ted Cruz) … But I can’t help but think of Nikki Haley, wouldnt it kill democrats if the first woman president where a republican?
There is precedent for this, as the first woman Prime Minister of the UK, Margret Thatcher, and Canada had Kim Campbell.
All Republicans from here on out will be Hitler. They have been since 92. If they’re healers, they’ll never get credit until post-Presidency. See Reagan.
