Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
Our first 2.0 Ricochet Podcast! This week, 2.0 is here (lots of talk about that), where’s MH370, Fox News’ James Rosen on Ukraine and his impressions of Obama and Hillary, the mysterious power and influence of the Dalai Lama, Rob does his downward dog, and the White House gets its just desserts.
Music from this week’s episode: Chill Out (Things Gonna Change) by John Lee Hooker
The Ricochet Podcast opening theme was composed and produced by James Lileks.

Would it be too much to have EJ do something with this statement? Perhaps something suitable for framing?
Wait, are nested comments gone???! YES!!!!
@Blue Yeti – The URL “http://ricochet.com/podcast/feed/podcasts/ricochet_podcast” could not be found on the server.
iTunes loveth you not.
When I clicked on “subscribe” I got This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
followed by XML.
The above is on Google Chrome. On Firefox, I get through, but there is no iTunes option. I’ll just grab the mp3 for now, but my previous experience monkeying around with Live Bookmarks made me all stabby.
The King Prawn: Perhaps something suitable for framing?
Were you thinking of something in a nice cross-stitch?
The principled part of me agrees with Peter -some punishment to make the point, followed by restoring the rules. But the (much larger) vindictive part of me wants to say that if this is how Democrats are going to rule, then it is time to switch tactics and become the ruler before we become the rulees.
The link works! I’m now listening to the podcast!
Having you post the link in the comments is perhaps the greatest innovation in R>2.0.
Suggestion for Ricochet 2.1: buy Rob a landline.
Are you really trying to outdo the ACA? This is the worst online experience I have ever had, and I’ve had some bad ones. I can log in, but it says I’m not a member. When I try to join, it says I have an “invalid custom configuration.” When I clear my browser data and start over, it never sends the email . . . I just keep getting the screen that says I need to reset my password, even when I click “hide FOREVER”
Geronimo,
We’ll have our support people get in touch with you and get your account back in shape. Watch your email.
The left believes your religion is BS but their BS is religion.
Too much liveliness on the front page… yes. I don’t like the carousel at all. As others have said, I come here to read, not to be amused by flashy graphics.
Also, I can’t subscribe to Ricochet via Feedly anymore, and that annoys me to no end. When it was a simple column, everything in a neat row, Feedly worked great. I don’t know if other blog feeds have the same problem?
Okay, so, I was able to download the flagship with no issues from iTunes. Also the podcasts have their cover art again.
The link is directly beneath the embedded player. So small that it’s easy to miss.
RSS feeds will be back in the next day or so. I use Feedly too.
[Expletive].
I use Pulse. The feed is coming through (though it doesn’t seem to differentiate between main feed and member feed. However, all the posts get truncated after the first paragraph, and then offer a link to read more. That needs to stop.
I’m finally getting around to listening to this podcast (due to technical issues). Rob doesn’t seem to even understand the objections to nested comments that have been raised by various members (including me). I would have less of a problem if he actually acknowledged where we were coming from but simply disagreed with us. The problem with nested comments is if we have a post with 10 pages of comments, and someone makes a nested comment on page 2, most people who are actively participating in the discussion (commenting on page 10) will miss it. Nested comments are an impediment to engaged conversation.
Thanks for heads up! I got this pod on the url feed by deleting old one and reentering with a redo of password. I had been getting errors on download all week caused by the change. Hopefully, this works for the Mona and Jay show.
Didn’t know you were replying to Mr. Chase already. I thought the blue was for Yetimahn’s prime sponsorship.
As much as I enjoyed getting a mention (any publicity good publicity!), I wish to point out that I only call the Democrats “the party of science” in the completely humdrum sense that professional scientists overwhelmingly vote Democratic. Professional scientists are a pretty tiny voting block, obviously, but they lend the party their considerable prestige, which is clearly a point of pride for many liberals.
But I of course don’t believe that the Democrats won over the scientific community in virtue of their superior rationality. What it boils down to is that science is their religion, but I get into more detail in the piece.
The piece is up here at The Federalist, but I guess Ben linked it too.
Ted Cruz for Senate Majority Leader. For the remainder of his 1st Term, at least. Punish the Democrats. Make Harry Reid eat that dish best served cold…with a bile chaser. Yup. That’s where I’m at.
Thank you Blue Yeti. The irony is I want to sign up for the extra cost membership — I’d personally vote for the 501(c)(3) model — but it won’t let me! Not very free enterprise-loving.
I can not download on my HDX fire
I’ve clicked on everything clickable and get no podcast – so I should check back in a week?
My thanks to Barkha Herman. She provided the link to the podcast that Ricochet neglected to provide.
I think I am becoming more stupid. And they said it couldn’t be done.
My own 2.0.
Thanks to Barkha. S/he makes it possible for the people who can’t figure anything out to listen.
I feel like such a dope.
The International Edition link never worked properly, even with 1.0. (Plus it can be hard to tell if it’s working since unrefreshed tends to = refreshed — what’s up with that anyway? would love to hear more from them)
Yeti, Geronimo’s post struck a note. My account expired and I can’t renew. Would you have support contact me, too? Perhaps my message sent using another account confused them. Or perhaps my reference to ricochet.healthcare.gov irritated. Thanks
Update: I was able to renew using the PayPal option. Thanks.
I still can’t get the podcast so I looked at my billing page to see the message: “Nothing to Update – You are NOT a paid member”.
When did this happen? The changeover to 2.0 causes me not to be a “paid member” anymore? You know what? This process has been rather obnoxiously handled – especially in regard to the lack of information provided about the effects of the change and the effort I’ve had to go to find out what’s going on.
So now I learn that my nearly 3 year membership is no longer in effect. Thanks a bunch.
Well done. Your pen name makes perfect sense now, and I’m not even dexlysic. But doing one “d” backwards was truly creative.
