By the way, if the next visit with Harry Shearer delves into non-politics stuff, I’d be grateful if someone asks him about his reminiscences of his work on one of my favorite movies, The Right Stuff. I’d really love to hear about him meeting Chuck Yeager (especially as Chuck is wheelchair-bound now and probably won’t be with us much longer). I’d read the Christopher Nolan-edited special issue of Wired a couple of years back that commemorated the movie, and was surprised to learn that Harry and Jeff Goldblum had no lines written for them. Phillip Kaufman just let them improvise. Everything you hear from them in that movie, they came up with themselves.
