Some podcasts talk about conditions in Mexico post-election, but the Ricochet Podcast actually goes there to get some boots-on-the-ground reporting in. Well, sort of. Actually, this show was taped on a boat docked in Cozumel, Mexico and frankly, the subject hardly even comes up. But that’s OK, because James Lileks flying solo without Peter and Rob welcomes guests Deroy Murdock and National Review publisher and cruise boss Jack Fowler.
The master at work.

I don’t know what kind of job I would have to be working to be able to take a week off in the middle of November, but I need to seek such a career out so I can make the next NR cruise.
So hilarious!
I thought Peter and Rob were also on the boat?
Nope.
I just got back from a cruise last weekend where we had a stop in Cozumel. We did a tour called the Cozumel Bar Hop. Went over to the other side of the island and visited some really beautiful and interesting bars. It was definitely worthwhile!
Jack has a good singing voice. He should be required to sing on all of the NR cruise ads
Ahhhh, the UnrelentingBashTrump Podcast + Deroy. This is a tough one. I’m thinking, I’m thinking. ….better not, it’s a beautiful day in San Diego.
Serving time in a Trump re-education camp. James barely escaped to Mexico to meet the boat.
I don’t know if it’ll be to your satisfaction, but it’s very post-119 these days, even on this podcast.
James Lileks is brilliant, of course, but I miss Peter Robinson.
^Did you bet Rob $20 that someone in the comments would say that?
I noticed that too.
Does Jack Fowler do any crooning around (karaoke at least), or did he just hit a lucky “come fly with me”. (I can’t carry a tune and envy those who can).
A beautiful singing voice is a gift from God, like being able to throw a baseball in the 90’s or run the 100 meters in the 10’s.
I can run the 100 meters in the 10’s. That’s assuming you meant “minutes”, of course.
It just occurred to me that I can throw a baseball in the 90’s, too. I prefer it be cooler than that, though.
But can you carry a tune while throwing a baseball when it’s 90 degrees outside, while completing a 100 meter (crawl?) under 10 minutes?
A “good” singng voice? I thought it exquisite. Sigh.
Yes. I do 100 meters at the gym all the time. I can not only carry a tune, I’ve got hundreds of them on my mp3 player.
