Here’s the audio from our Ricochet Meet-up at Galway Pub in mid-town Manhattan. Rob Long hosts John Podhoretz, Ann Coulter (buy her new book Never Trust a Liberal Over Three-Especially a Republican) Tommy DeSeno, and of course, our beloved Ricochet members.

Special thanks to Ricochet member Dick From Brooklyn for the location scouting, PJS for the name tags, and everyone else for attending. It was great fun!

I am not going to listen if it is just another hour of JPod whining about being called a RINO, or even worse an hour of JPod saying ‘I told you so’.

If somebody listens to it, please leave a comment with the answer.

JPod is an enormous asset to our side and an excellent fellow.  I encourage him to come to Minneapolis.

I listened to just about half the audio on the way to work, and I kept thinking:  “I want to do this in Seattle.”  Rob, Peter, anyone, when can you come?

Z in MT: the JPod whine was there but Ann Coulter in one of her two ‘zing’ took the steam out of the whine on the RINO topic; however, it was there for the whole show.

Loved Ann Coulter. But, only two zings from the inner Zingbot? First, was the zing against those who want to primary good Rs because they don’t have 100% ratings- she used Liz Cheney as example, but she also complained about Akin, Murdock, and the O’Donnell and the Arizona lady. Very legitimate but ignores that senior go alongs are in senior position of inertia.

Second zing was against most of the Ricochetti. She praised Ted Cruz and his guts and for what he did. Somewhat deflated JPod.

Loved the pictures of Rob Long. He sure doesn’t look like the avs he are using. Have to do some reassessment. Voice doesn’t match face. Probably a good thing. :)

Love the live audience and audience participation.  Need more meet up/live podcasts.  Normally can’t stand Ann Coulter but she was dead on.  Great job Yeti.

Rob, being a “little conservative activist cell” in a giant republican party that runs the levers of government has no appeal to me.

The “power” that you associate with this would not be the power to decrease spending or lower taxes or reduce regulations at all.  It would be the power to give handouts to different groups or people than the liberals do so I could stay in power.

I, for one, would rather “stand athwart history yelling Stop when no one is inclined to do so.”

    I was a little disappointed.

    Irish bar. New York City.

    No singing?

(Although I can’t imagine Podhoretz’s version of “Danny Boy.”)

We weren’t drunk enough. Most of us had to get up for work the next day. Next time we can bust out the St Patty’s standards

That was such a pleasure to listen to! Thanks to all who participated. I have to say that Jonah has been my GOP pundit crush for a while now, but JPod won me over with this one. I’m torn between the two of them!

No, but during the postcast you can hear where somebody downstairs shouted NO! very loudly a dozen times.  I kinda expected gunshots to follow.

Republican reformers should jump ahead in this podcast until about 70 or so minutes in when Cornell discusses how to talk about some issues (education) to demographics that in the past haven’t been open to the GOP message.
