Meet The Press

This week, our pal and former colleague Mollie Hemingway sits in and fortuitously, there’s a ton of media stories to discuss, starting with the President’s epic press conference. Later, NewsMax CEO and Presidential BFF Chris Ruddy joins to give us his insider POV of the machinations of White House staff. Then another old colleague, author and musician James Poulos stops by to discuss why he’s intent on making Tocqueville great again with his new book The Art of Being Free: How Alexis de Tocqueville Can Save Us from Ourselves.  Also, some thoughts on the Deep State, a phrase that has suddenly come back into the zeitgeist.

But it’s important to be clear-eyed that he is a gibbering mental incompetent. It goes well beyond undisciplined. These are the words of an intelligent man?

–Yes that’s it. A gibbering mental incompetent whipped in Rob Longs words the ‘finest fields of Republicans of recent memory’, and President Obama’s ‘Most qualified candidate in the history of the United Statees’.

–A man doesn’t become a multi billionaire and President of the United States by being an idiot.

–The last thing anyone should do is underestimate Trump. Its because of people like you he won.

–Instead of moral preening about how he ‘isnt’ one of the smart people. Spend some time actually trying to figure out how he became so effective and became President. Or I tell you the next 8 years are going to really suck for you.

You don’t have to be intelligent to win less than the majority of Republican primary votes. You don’t even have to be conscious. Primary voters could vote for a person in a coma if they so chose.

A man doesn’t become a multi billionaire and President of the United States by being an idiot.

First, it’s never been clear that he is a billionaire. Second, it helps to inherit millions of dollars and thousands of properties from your father which you did nothing to earn. Additionally, his career has been marked by one catastrophic failure after another. His pre-presidential success and fame was predicated on the success of a reality show in which he pretended to make decisions. Finally, it doesn’t require intelligence to be the brand name figurehead at the top of a giant organization run by competent people.

Its because of people like you he won.

    “It’s”

    Agreed.

–I have been in politics for 15 years. The thing is never insult the voter no matter what. It’s the best way to lose.

First, it’s never been clear that he is a billionaire.

–Forbes did a piece on him shortly after he made the claim that he was worth at least 10 billion dollars. They summed up the value of all the properties he owned and subtracted all public debt and it came to be about 3.3 billion dollars. It seems to be pretty clear that he is worth billions of dollars.

–Most people who inherit millions of dollars and properties from their parents squander them pretty quickly. To build upon them and turn tens of millions of dollars into at least 3 billion dollars does not strike me as one catastrophic failure after another.

–So a colossally stupid incompetent beat 16 accomplished governors, senators, including a guy touted for the Supreme court. He then went onto whip the Obama machine and the Clintons, was outspent by 3:1.

–I believe I summed up your argument?

    “It’s”

–The ability to correct my spelling automatically defeats the argument and proves you superior to me.

–I am just going to console myself with my dozens of published articles.
