Is it the dawning of a new era or are we continuing the one we’re already in? The answer was not clear when we assembled today at 9AM Pacific Time (the best time zone, as everyone knows), but we do our best to pundit all of the facts we knew when we rolled tape clicked record. But before we start that, Rob Long has a statement he’d like to make. And Peter Robinson has some thoughts on why the race may not really be over. On that topic, we are lucky to have John Yoo, Esq. back on to take us through the myriad election laws on both the state and the Federal level. Then, Arizona native (and Ricochet Editor-In-Chief) Jon Gabriel calls in from his car to explain the finer points of voting with a Sharpie and why that matters and offer his theory on how that state’s Presidential race is going to wind up. Finally, we go across the pond to Budapest to tap the mind of one the most cogent political observers we know: John O’Sullivan. From his perch in Budapest, he has a perspective and a point of view that is perceptive and unique. And he sounds so urbane when he delivers it, we can’t resist. Finally, wind up with some thoughts and insights on polling and why it was so off this cycle.

That’s a wrap on the 202o election cycle, folks. We thank you for sticking with us. We know (boy, do we know…) that you didn’t always agree with what you heard on this show, but we hope you weren’t bored and that once in a while you gained an insight or two. We have some interesting plans for the show going forward (including offering members the ability to watch it –warts and all– live on Zoom as we record it) and some very cool guests. The future starts now.

Music from this week’s show: That’s Life by Frank Sinatra

John makes a good point about the unlikely potential for Democrat frauds under Republican state legislatures and governors. But remember that COVID fears empowered county and state judges like never before disrupt many norms by emergency powers and clains of extraordinary circumstances. And the Democrat party extends beyond state boundaries to coordinate efforts.

Republican state legislatures need to make electoral fraud prevention a priority. Here’s Steyn on another example of fraud that proved determinative.

State legislatures also need to put limits on future exercise of emergency powers. Those powers exist for situations in which time is not available for the normal legislative process. There should be legal, and not just political, pressure to resume the normal process.

John’s “point about the unlikely potential for Democrat frauds under Republican state legislatures and governors” presupposes that Democrats do not control the cities or districts where the fraud actually occurs. Which, of course, they do.

Every Republican effort to prevent voter fraud is bruited by the media — and appealed to the Federal courts — as an example of racist “voter suppression”; so it’s not surprising Republicans have been slow to act.

It also assumes that those Republican governors and legislators are conservative.  The Republican legislature in my state (AK) is just as bad as a Democrat one would be and our once conservative governor (he was great when he was a state senator) has proven entirely inept at doing anything to protect us from out-of-control city mayors, rural village Karens, or radically activist assemblies, much less get his hands messy in a national election mess.

Listening again, it’s disappointing that John Yoo appears to conflate or confuse “the system is rigged” with “the system is being manipulated.”

Maybe that’s another hazard of going to law school?

They didnt need to interview pundits.  They needed to interview mathematicians.  This is fraud.  Where does fraud happen?  In the most corrupt part of America where governance is most third world- bing cities.

The election was stolen exactly as people predicted – by illegal vote harvesting in democratic strongholds with mass mail in ballots.  The fact we rely on signatures in 2020 is embarrassing.  How accurate is that?  What is the threshold for precision when being reviewed?  Its dumb.

Besides Robs delusion about Trump not expanding his base, Trump would be the only incumbent to lose while getting MORE votes than he did last time.  At the same time I am supposed to believe that Biden, who is a boring talentless senile hack, got more votes than the once in a generation talent, stadium filling, change candidate Obama?  Are you serious?

Also in CA all close elections go to democrats.  Garcia will lose because that third world country made ballot harvesting legal thus ending their democratic system.

And Republicans should be terrified.  If there was no fraud then the media, big tech, and democrat machine can push a senile man over the line on a president that expanded his base, had an approval rating above 50% (no incumbent ever lost with those numbers), and had delivered the best economy and peace deals, etc.  It means we are truly a dead national party.

In the US we treat ballots with very little seriousness and its worse the more corrupt areas (cities) who have the most population.  Once the Supreme Court took away the power of rural citizens to reign in cities we were toast.

A whore and a corrupt rapist who has his son making deals are people of good character.  But Trump is evil that had to be impeached.  Romney has become so shallow and confuses moral character for politeness.  Not that I think Trump is moral.  I am just sad Romney has so little sense of morality.  Good character.  Shame.  Shame.

And how insane is it to suggest Joe Biden is “polite”?

Biden is polite to Romney, and Romney is apparently incapable of seeing beyond that.   Romney is exactly the type of Republican democrats love and we should never elect, he smiles graciously while getting kicked in the face.

He wouldn’t have to look far. Just look at how his running mate in 2012 was treated by Joe.
