Rob makes his RINO mistake here too. The problem with RINOs is they aren’t just “moderate.” The main problem is that even if they campaign as “moderate” or a bit farther right, once they get in they don’t follow through. So having RINOs “win” is not really a win, in most cases.
Unless RINOs just give a slight numerical majority that allows serious conservatives to have more of a say, it’s pointless to elect them. Ultimately they end up going with the Dims a lot of the time.
Opening theme: Does anyone agree that doopa-doopa track underlying the otherwise witty audio-montage should go? It doesn’t really tie the other material together; it just sounds crude, and would-be modern. Yuk.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Nick Hudson say things that, had he written them as a post on Ricochet last year, might have been “redacted” as some kind of “conspiracy theory,” or at the very least not promoted to the Main Feed?
I don’t trust his analytics since history has proved him wrong-Hudson claimed last June that the estimate of 40K COVID deaths in So Africa was “a drastic over-estimate” and they now have >53K deaths.

It is difficult to get some of his other predictions from last year to check his accuracy b/c the “server can’t be found” on some of them.

so he is off by ~250-300% not exactly great at numbers for a number guy. I hope his estimates for the damage from the lockdowns is more exacting.

Time is not a cruel mistress in podcasts. Just slip her an extra bauble and you can stay another five minutes.
On a related note, I can’t stand podcasts that they make last 60 minutes no matter what. I get why they do this, but on balance it defeats what is good about podcasting. I want solid content. Radio has a hard clock, but they can take callers if they need to fill up time. On some shows the callers are very entertaining and informing.
The Patriot Channel on SiriusXM is really good because they get great guests because of their national footprint into BFE everywhere, but their clock is way, way more flexible than terrestrial radio. It’s the best of both worlds.

@scottwilmot I remember during the homosexual marriage debate that those in favor of it told us that if the Republican Party were to survive into the future we all must embrace the progressive culture and become more liberal as a whole.
And then those same people had a cow when the party embraced a man they found morally and politically “distasteful.”
“He’s not a conservative!” they yelled. Suddenly, the leader of the GOP had to be this rigidly moral beacon to the country. Now that he’s out of the White House they have returned to the pre-Trump argument that the only way to compete in elections is to stop being so damned conservative. They will never quite square that circle, will they?
In a recent “G-File,” Jonah Goldberg called the culture war “a distraction.” On immigration policy, he wrote, “Democrats love the issue because it lets them demonize Republicans— often but not always unfairly— as rank nativists and bigots.” (Emphasis mine.) See, if you don’t embrace the progressive cultural agenda you deserve to be branded as a racist. Now, of course, he’s gleefully cheerleading the potential demise of Matt Gaetz, because the “culture war” stuff of sex is suddenly not a distraction. It never is when it’s convenient, I guess.
I’m not an expert on this, but I think the question of state sanctioned polygamy is still legally wide open because of homosexual marriage. I’m not up on the current status, but the FLDS types are a total nightmare.
They never, ever should have recognized them as the same thing. They aren’t the same thing.
I just happened to start a very good conversation about spending, conservatives gaining political traction or not, and so forth.

Not unexpected, but it would have been nice when discussing Presidents turning grey in their term to say that Trump looked younger at the end of his.
I was thinking it and was glad that Peter brought it up when it was mentioned that two of the hosts wrote articles about California. Rob’s is positive about California’s future and I thought, didn’t Rob just flee it? Granted it was to another cesspool, but he left. Thanks for chastising him Peter.

At this point, my hypothesis is that you need a party led and funded by someone like Peter Thiel to mount a successful alternative. This would be a coalition of non-white, non-progressive Democrats, independents, and moderate conservatives. The GOP brand is shot, in my opinion, but if a non-Republican runs who is palatable to GOP voters, then it’s worth a try.
We never care about how long our podcasts go as long as they are interesting. In this case, we were running up against other appointments the hosts had to get to.
