Could Bigfoot Erotica influence the election? Fan-favorite Chris Stirewalt of Fox News says, “It’s a possibility.” (BIG IF TRUE) No, but really, Jonah wanted to have Chris back on The Remnant to cut through the vast amount of statistical noise being generated in the run-up to the election. With some polls suggesting a Biden landslide, other polls predicting a closer-than-expected outcome, and yet still more organizations suggesting a legion of silent-assassin-Republicans, waiting in the wings to shock the pollsters once again, Stirewalt clarifies these contradictory auguries with a brevity and hilarity rarely found in the mucky world of punditry. While the haruspicy might make for a very unhygienic office space, Stirewalt gets the job done, and that’s why we trust his expertise.

I really hate Jonah gloating when trashing people inclined to like him. It’s like Rick Wilson, but less nasty.
Good lord, is Jonah recording six or seven Remnants per week now? Just when I think I’m caught up more of them appear in my feed. Might be a leeeeetle too much Remnant (but not nearly enough cowbell).
I once begged him not to go more than one episode a week. I’ve liked him for a long time but I’m now choosing to not listen to more than one or two a week. it’s just too much, and too negative.
He seems to be doing it because Dispatch subscribers demand “content.”
Apparently even if that “content” has little or no content.
So, I can’t see why a remnant conservative would not want to keep the Senate at least – a bad map gets worse if they create a bunch of new states, and you can run a President Biden if you keep the Senate and lose the Presidency anyways.
I doubt Republicans will refuse to nominate Biden appointments – that’s just not what they do (save for the 4th or 8th year of a presidency).
What passes for “conservative” among the beltway class is not recognizable as conservative in the rest of the country.
I worry about Jonah’s health and stamina since launch of the Dispatch. The quality of his writing and of THE REMNANT podcasts has remained high, but surely this must take some toll.
I actually really like Chris Stirewalt (he is a patron at the library where I work and is always very friendly) and enjoyed this conversation. The discussion about “shy Trump voters” was interesting if not 100% convincing. They made a fair point about not having any reason to lie to pollsters, but neither of them even seemed to believe that the Trump (or conservative) closet is a real thing in every day life. Good heavens, try working with a bunch of middle-aged white female librarians and see how forthcoming you are about your political views.
Agree about his health. He starts every podcast with, “If I sound like I’m exhausted it’s only because I am.”
Hate does take its toll on people. Maybe he should find a new job.
Beltway bubble effect. They have no clue.
No kidding? I really like Stirewalt and always enjoy seeing or hearing him.
It’s actually a cute(ish) story…a couple of years ago he came in with his sons after school to sign up for a library card. I had no idea who he was (don’t have cable or watch TV) but the email address he used for his account was at-foxnews-dot-com, which is definitely not a thing I see every day. So I did some googling and found out who he was. The next time I saw him at the library was soon after his first appearance on The Remnant. I sort of whispered (I’m deeply closeted at work, as I’ve mentioned) to him as he was leaving, “hey, I enjoyed you on Jonah’s podcast!” and he’s been very cordial ever since. I’ve still never seen him on TV or listened to his podcast. :-)
He always strikes me as very down-to-Earth. He doesn’t come off as a show business persona. I saw him just a couple days ago on Kennedy, which is a news talk show on Fox Business Channel.
I finally got to listen to this one today. Jonah should have Chris Stirewalt on once a month.
