The world’s oldest operating roller coaster is Leap-the-Dips. (Not at Kennywood; at Lakemont Park.) And the Coney Island Thunderbolt moldered away, SBNO, until 2000.

    . . .

My apologies. I used to be a diehard coaster nerd. (I was even, at one point, the European Coaster Club‘s youngest member.)

I was just going to mention Leap the Dips (although maybe someone can help but didn’t Leap The Dips close for a period of years and then reopen). I worked at Kennywood in the 90’s and there are three great old wood coasters there. Two are originals from the 1920’s (Racer and Jack Rabbit) and the other was originally built in the 1920’s and was called the Pippin but was redone in the 60’s and renamed the Thunderbolt.
