Ricochet Member @Arahant sat down with Dave to discuss just a few of his numerous areas of expertise. Want to talk management theories, consultant approaches and learn from an expert what a great many managers are up to? How about a conversation on the Trump administration’s first year? Want to learn how to cope with writer’s block and make it work for you? Or perhaps you’d like to explore the world of poetry, or learn the benefits of a few moments of silence? Interested in Ricochet’s Writer’s Group, or even the 90 Day Challenge? It’s all here — a one-stop shopping podcast which led Dave to write, “The trick was keeping the conversation down to an hour!” So make yourself comfortable and listen in. We think you’ll be glad you did.

I don’t know anything about meters and all that.

I have an ongoing series on information about poetry and forms that I have done on Ricochet.

As of this moment, they start on my page ten and go through about page eight of my history:

It was a bit disappointing as he explained the approach too many managers take,…partially because it echoed some of the experiences I had with the very senior ranks while on active duty.

Management is management everywhere, Dave. Commercial, non-profit, or governmental, they’re all the same.

Perhaps it is unfair of me, but I get e-mails on some poetry, and I look at it, and think to myself, these are just random thoughts. Am I wrong?

I can’t say for certain without seeing the articles in question, but probably not. We go back to Sturgeon’s Revelation.

The first line of this link sounds like me. Thanks. I’ll read all of them when I get a moment. This is my blog…..

I guess I can be rather pushy at times, but if you can take time from your schedule to read some of the stuff on it, maybe give me comments, I’d sure appreciate it!! :-)

    This is my blog…..

When it comes to poetry subjects (but not actual poetry), this is my site:

Been meaning to ask if you ever thought about posting the music titles used in each of your podcasts, including the ad breaks, @davecarter.  I keep hearin’ all these tunes I like but don’t know the title/artist.

Loved hearing both of you on this podcast–thanks! Arahant, your discussion of process management brought back fond memories. I only worked with single teams that were in conflict, but we did the same kind of work on a smaller scale. I got to a point where I told managers not to bother bringing me in unless they were prepared to make changes and follow through on holding their people accountable. I wasn’t there to check on them over time, but at least I was honest.

And loved your talk about poetry–awesome! I loved your poems about driving on the road and rainbows. Thank you. Good job you two!

My strategy was to work with smaller companies over time. I had to drop all of my corporate speak and translate it into plain English (business process reengineering turned into “doing things better”), but it was a lot more fun and got things accomplished.

I enjoyed this conversation very much. Thank you!

(Chatting one on one in a podcast is probably the best way for an introvert to share himself with a large community such as Ricochet!)
