In these post-election days, Jay wanted to talk to his old friend and colleague Robert Costa: national political reporter of the Washington Post; analyst for NBC News and MSNBC; host of PBS’s “Washington Week.” They do indeed talk it over: R’s, D’s, media, inaugurations, and more. Costa is a man who knows – because he finds out.

Someone should ask him if the slogan, “Democracy Dies in Darkness” is a warning, or is it a plan?

It is, but I lifted it from someone on Twitter, and paraphrased because I forgot the exact quote.

I wouldn’t trust Robert Costa to sort out my sock drawer. His appearance on the flagship podcast in 2017, in which he referred to the [anonymous] sources (most likely Obama administration intelligence officials) that he and other Washington Post reporters were using for their reporting on the Russia investigation hoax, is forever etched in my mind. He has never been challenged or questioned on subsequent Ricochet podcast appearances about the fictional collusion narrative the WP was pushing for years. Now that the truth is out about the Steele dossier, the Clinton campaign, the impeachment farce, etc., etc. it would be great to press him on these media failures. I’m not holding my breath that will ever happen though.

Costa also published a bunch of bald-faced lies in his WaPo story about Trump’s Mt. Rushmore speech on the Fourth of July: https://twitter.com/costareports/status/1279454586659581952?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw.

I generally respect Jay Nordlinger, but Costa is just a hack. I can’t believe any conservative would take him seriously at this point.

Wow. That is awful. I knew about those purposeful misrepresentations of Trump’s Mt. Rushmore speech, but I didn’t know Costa’s was one of them. To think he wrote for National Review way back in the day…
