After undergoing kidney surgery on May 14, Melania Trump made her first public appearance at a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) briefing with President Donald Trump, Vice President Pence and other members of the Cabinet.

The appearance ended a period of media frenzy and conspiracy theories regarding her whereabouts, and came hours after the president took to Twitter to defend Melania.

He wrote, “The Fake News Media has been so unfair, and vicious, to my wife and our great First Lady, Melania. During her recovery from surgery they reported everything from near death, to facelift, to left the W.H. (and me) for N.Y. or Virginia, to abuse. All Fake, she is doing really well!”

Trump added, “…Four reporters spotted Melania in the White House last week walking merrily along to a meeting. They never reported the sighting because it would hurt the sick narrative that she was living in a different part of the world, was really ill, or whatever. Fake News is really bad!”

The first lady addressed the speculation herself on May 30 when she tweeted:

“I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I’m doing. Rest assured, I’m here at the @WhiteHouse w my family, feeling great, & working hard on behalf of children & the American people!”

We also take on Miss America’s doing away with the bikini contest and evening gown portions of the famed show. Chairwoman of the Miss America board of directors (and former Fox News host) Gretchen Carlson announced these changes recently on Good Morning America. And finally, we address the tragic suicide of iconic fashion designer Kate Spade.
