Today, the Senate and the nation heard from Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford—the woman who claims she was sexually assaulted by the judged while the two were in high school. We watched the whole thing and talked to protestors, both pro- and anti-, to find out where American’s stand.

I am glad to hear someone actually taking apart some of the really blatant problems with the woman’s testimony.  It seems most commentators are scared saying anything that attacks what she says will result in them being called monsters or something.

Elsewhere on Ricochet, someone wrote that there is a difference between being “sincere” and being “credible.”

    That is exactly right.

So happy you guys took apart the “fear of flying” excuse.  It’s ridiculous that’s accepted as a thing per the context of the professor’s life.

As for the woman who had never thought about the implications of all of this for the men in their lives, I think they feel immune.  And they don’t know history?  I engaged a woman in casual conversation about this.  (Rather, she engaged me thinking I would be in agreement with a comment about how men should just say sorry.)  Amazingly enough–and I am not making this up–she said she thought her son was quite capable of rape.

I really didn’t know how to respond to that apart from saying I hope she instilled better values, and I am certain my own son isn’t.

I am with Lindsey Graham on this one.
