Not sure what that’s in response to, but I do wish that Trump had told the reporter at 39:10ish, “That’s a stupid question. Next.” This was the reporter who stated falsely that “all” intelligence agencies say Russia (something something*). That stale talking point comes from the report from James Clapper right before Trump was inaugurated. It was released in coordination with the release of the Hillary/Steele Dossier to Buzzfeed. Remember Clapper was the one who asked Comey to brief Trump on the Hillary Dossier so that he (Clapper) could leak it. He’s admitted in testimony under oath that he did this. Not that his word under oath means much, since we know for a fact that Clapper has lied under oath the Congress on several occasions.

*It’s still not clear to me exactly what they’re supposed to have done to interfereⓡ in our democracy.

So half better? I’m sorry but this was a ridiculous performance. He stood there and let Putin spew his propaganda nodding along the whole time. I’m somewhat comforted by the fact that his administration seems to do the polar opposite on policy to what the President says with his rhetoric, but on the world stage rhetoric matters. Drawing equivalency between the US and murderous dictators is what he left does and I hate it.

Do you have data that shows that there are intelligence agencies saying that Russia did not interfere with the 2016 election? (Other that the GRU and FSB of course).

I just finished work and heard about the outrageously outrageous thing Trump said that I’m supposed to be outraged by!

Okay, everyone’s talking about what he said, but I don’t yet know what he actually said. I’m too busy getting myself worked into a fury about how outrageous what he said was. I’m gonna listen to his actual outrageously outrageous words now. I’ll be back in a minute.

Nothing, Trump is the same Putin loving idiot he has always been. He has thrown everything and everyone under the bus in support of Putin rhetorically through out his whole political career, from the US military to his own vice president, to now his Justice Department, and intelligence services. Luckily, for us I assume his cabinet and staff don’t listen to him on this, and go on trying to do their jobs. Thank god for government inertia keeping Trump from selling the country away for a pat on the head from Putin.

That is not actually what he said, but that’s the spin. He said Dan Coats told him Russia “did it” (whatever that means) and that he has “great confidence in my intelligence people.” Then he also said that Putin denied it. (“It”?)

That does not mean that he believes Putin.

Referring to policy errors and political foolishness (or worse) is not the same as drawing equivalency to a murderous dictator. Not being able to make simple and obvious distinctions is what the left does.

Yeah, me too. I just got back from three days in the future in my Delorean. Everyone’s outraged that Trump said something mean about Samantha Bee. No one remembers Putin-whatever-gate.

I was assured Trump was an alpha male but he sure acts submissive with Putin. He just peed on America (as follow up to his disgraceful tweet of last night). A very Obama like move though.

Blaming it 100% on America? Very Obama like. Your comment reminded me of When Trump made a direct.equivalency comparison to Russia during the campaign. Very Obama like again. Too bad we’ve now had two presidents in a row engage in this nonsense.

Here’s a list of other facts that President Trump will believe no matter what.

    1. Big Mac’s are healthy.
    2. His dad loaned him $1M, because he was smart.
    3. Karen McDougal would have gone out with him even if he weren’t a billionaire.
    4. His ROI for the past 40 years beats that of the S&P 500.
    5. World leaders respect him.

I don’t believe that either I or President Trump referred to a percentage.

Also, I tend to not take one or two comments from anyone as the sum total of everything. Nor do I think anything President Obama said or did must therefore be my polar opposite.

Honestly, I don’t understand where you’re coming from here. Who are you talking to? what are you arguing against?

You’re not talking to “The Right”. You’re talking to individuals here if you’re actually talking to anyone.

I would not have been apoplectic. I’ve thought since the late 90’s that we were wasting and mismanaging the aftermath of the fall of the Soviet Union. I’m not smart enough to make a great case for it, but I’ve felt it intuitively. That started with papa Bush. I would not have supported the Republicans ginning up a Russian Collusion narrative using the full force of the federal government and trying to use it to bring down a Democrat opponent. I would not have been apoplectic over criticism of a Republican candidate hawking us closer to a shooting war with Russia as an election strategy using goofy to faulty reasoning (as Hillary was doing).

Russia is not the Soviet Union. The world has changed. There’s been much foolishness in the interim.

After listening to the press conference, I think the people who’ve declared that Trump’s statements were treasonous were overstating things just a tad. On the other hand, once he got off script, his comments were more than a little wince inducing. He’s definitely not the guy I would have picked to represent the United States in a meeting with…, well, with just about anybody.

Russia, as run by Putin, is a murderous totalitarian kleptocracy. They murder journalists and inconvenient lawyers and invade sovereign nations for territorial expansion. If you feel that this is a nation we should hold press conferences with where our President nods along to their lies about brave men like Bill Browder – well we have just have fundamentally different views about America, her values and what she stands for on the world stage.

I am fundamentally against toadying up to Murderous Foreign Dictators.

Not having been a member of the holy church of romney, I didn’t care about russia when Obama was president either.

That said, I haven’t ever really cared about russia except for the time I almost got myself killed by the russian special forces. Those guys have no chill.

If President Trump believes Putin over his own intelligence services as he said at the press conference today, why does he not fire the entire intelligence apparatus? Clearly, they are working against America and her interests by supplying the President with false information because…they hate Trump? I don’t know anymore…

I do not favor toadying, Mama Toad excepted.

I don’t know who Bill Browder is. Or what the story is.

I don’t put as much stock in press conferences as you seem to.

I’m not into sweeping statements like “if you feel X then we have fundamentally different views about Y” where X and Y are a weird mix of specific and hopeless generalization. What does holding a press conference with the leader of a large nation say about my view of America – as if that is some one dimensional thing anyway?

I don’t know why you’d make such a distinction between Putin and China, Saudi Arabia too. Doesn’t China kill journalists and all the rest too? Hell Bush gave them Most Favored Nation Trading status! But Trump had a press conference and that’s worse somehow. #notacult

I understand that you seem to be attacking me for something, but I’m not sure what. Whatever you laid out in this comment has nothing to do with me, and is one tired interpretation of President Trump.
