Excellent podcast. You discussed the US Senate. How about discussing the secession of California to give the Left a consolation prize?
I’ve been thinking about the question Rich asked, about what was more important: The Declaration or the Constitution? Everyone said the Constitution. And, while I respect that view, it sounded to lawyerly to me. I think that, without the Declaration, our country might not be here. Maybe we would. But the Declaration gave what it said it would: “…a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.” It gave to the world the thoughts of what a properly constituted government should be. For that reason, I think it more important.
