I was out of the country for the entire Christine Blasey Ford debacle, and I figure that’s a good thing. I don’t suspect I could have survived the perpetual intense outrage I would have felt over the wholesale abandonment of due process. If Christine Blasey Ford brought her story to the police AND the police believed everything that she said, they still could not arrest anyone – her testimony did not amount to probable cause to suspect that a crime was committed. She should not have been permitted to testify.
I’m surprised that Michael Graham did not mention the Rolling Stone article of November 2014, that described a gang rape committed at the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. As I recall, Michael, Jonah Goldberg and I were the just about the only persons to announce publicly that the Rolling Stone article was a work of fiction. As I further recall, we all independently indicated that it was obvious after the first few paragraphs that the article was fiction. I haven’t scrutinized the transcript of Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony, but from the reports I’ve heard, her testimony was no more credible than the Rolling Stone article.
I’m also wondering if there will be a discussion on Behind the Blue Wall regarding Michael Graham’s steadfast and longstanding prediction of an epic blue wave election of Democrats in the looming 2018 elections. It must have been at least nine months ago that Mark Steyn announced publicly his belief that there won’t be a blue wave at all.
