It’s the “All GOP Tax Cuts (Mostly)” edition of the podcast, with analysis from the Heritage Foundation and Republican Congressman Jody Hice.

How Trump hatred creates (unintentional) media hilarity!

No, your dog doesn’t love you.

Jeff Sessions has some ‘splainin’ to do

And would somebody please bring the “spring forward/fall backward” stupidity to an end?!

Republicans have capitulated to the Clinton/Obama top tax rate.

I agree with you on daylight saving but boy are you wrong and a very sorry person about dogs. My dogs absolutely love me and I love them. What is wrong with you!

No, your dogs do NOT “love” you. Love involves will, a choice (as every married person knows). I have a dog and he’s great, etc, etc. But he’s not a “fur baby” or a “pet person.” My children are my children. If you can’t tell the difference between your kids and your dogs, you’re a really bad parent.

If you think $ 60,000 annual income with six kids is middle class, you’re way out of touch.

I can tell the difference between my kids and my pets and my kids come first – of course! But to say that dogs are incapable of love is just ridiculous. They have enough intelligence to make a choice to love. You don’t have to call them fur babies or pet persons – they are dogs. But dogs DO love people.

Since I’m new to Michael’s podcast (which I love BTW) and felt the urge to comment earlier on taxes, I’ll chime in. It’s a matter of semantics, although I’m more on Michael’s side. However his characterization of you is wrong, and if you believe your dog loves you, awesome! I have a dog who I love, and she loves me. But she loves me because I scratch her belly, give her treats and take her for much longer walks than my wife and son. I also believe there’s an alpha male attraction on her part that makes her connect more closely with me. But it’s still all instinct and conditioning.

GJP welcome to the conversation! And while I HATE debating semantics, (One might even say I’m ANTI-Semantic, but please don’t because I’ll get another job offer from Breitbart), I agree with you re: conditioning. A little sloppy language (My dog loves me) isn’t the problem. A culture that loves dogs more than people is.

Love is a mix of intellectual motion and emotion. Dogs certainly have emotions. The will is an appetite for the good, i.e., for what will make one happy. Dogs and all animals have that.

Love is an act of the will. So unless you insist that there is only one ideal Love, I’d say a dog can love you.

As I understand it we don’t want children going to school in the dark. We could have every city use the time zone of its longitude but that would cause confusion. Let’s just let stores be open 18 or 20 hours a day, keep schools closed until actual daylight, whenever that is, and stagger work hours so all the commuters don’t have to be on the highways at once. People who don’t like daylight savings time can use universal (Greenwich) time. That’s what the aviation weather people use.

Then the social manipulators can use whatever time system they want and we can just ignore them.

So you’re saying your dog wants you. OMG, that is so gross.
