No, “Die Hard” Is NOT A Christmas movie, no matter how many trolls at the Weekly Standard and elsewhere take to Twitter to make the (bogus) case.
Foreign policy wonk Omri Ceren and I celebrate Trump’s strategy on the UN and Jerusalem, including Nikki Haley’s wonderful speech at the United Nations described as “bullying” by gutless Euroweenies.
The Democrats deliver yet another Christmas gift to the GOP, and her name is “Hillary Clinton.”
And the darkest, most depressing, most discomfiting Christmas movie is…

Michael Graham: Movie Critic. We need more of this.
Are you a closet Muslim? I can’t think of another explanation for your trashing of one of the best Christmas movies ever (and I’m not talking about Die Hard). Actually, considering It’s A Wonderful Life has been on this earth for a lot longer than most of us, if you stopped looking at it through the eyes of a cosmopolitan, twenty first century gadfly, your review would be different. AND BTW, Die Hard is a Christmas movie! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Can’t please everyone, can you, Michael?
Not all of Michael’s fans are lapdogs.
If you’re referring to me, this is about the first day all week I haven’t beaten him up about something. I must be in the Christmas spirit.
Considering you decided to troll my comment, your idea of Christmas spirit is a bit flawed.
Why, I’m not trolling anything. Merely having a conversation. Isn’t that what Ricochet is all about?
Conversation? Troll? As my father would point out to his boys: “A rat can’t smell its own hole.”
So, you must live in the UP, then.
For a laugh let’s have a podcast with Omri Ceren interviewing Mike Stopa or vice versa. They sound similar to me.
Great review of It’s A Wonderful Life. I like Frank Capra but have never particularly liked this one and usually do not watch it. I am an agnostic on Die Hard.
‘NUFF SAID:
Michael, you and I have very different ideas of what constitutes a wonderful life. People can have money and contribute to society and be successful and be completely miserable at the same time. It is love and family that makes life wonderful. And Die Hard is definitely a Christmas movie. Yippee ki-yay and Merry Christmas.
Rats can’t be double-jointed? I thought for lab purposes they ‘mimicked’ mankind. I know lots of “mankind” that can get their whole heads up there.
Great conversation with Omri.
I was thinking, how many heads would explode if Trump decided not to run in 2020 and instead endorsed a Halley-Pence ticket, sacrificing another term to ensure the historic election of the first woman president?
Actually the analogy refers to the rat’s home, not it’s anus. I’m sure of that because my father would never reference an animal’s ass, besides one of a horse.
Oh yes please!
I would see Trump now running for reelection. He could think to himself, been there, done that, time to move on to the next challenge.
