    I wasn’t delighted that Trump was elected president. But I was ecstatic that HRC was shut down.

    I am, however, beside myself with joy at how Trump bypasses the press with his tweets, and also how he doesn’t let them set the agenda. His way of not letting them bully him is wonderful to watch.

    It was a poor choice by GW Bush’s advisors to not push back against the character assassination he experienced.

    If you ever find that you need material for any bit watching BBC World News would do you a world of good. Bubbles are thick and fear is raging over there all the time. It also might be some nice variety to share with your listeners the fun house mirror that so many Europeans see America through.

    Wow, the fantasy idea is so good that it might make me watch some of the Oscars.

    A fun ride, as usual. Loved Paul’s intro to Don’t Fear the Donald, but if I may be so bold as to suggest – it could use more cowbell.

    Hi Gents.

    Great show today. I love the ideas of the Oscars fantasy competition. I can only imagine how annoying the show will be. I wouldn’t watch it if you threatened me with bodily harm if I didn’t watch.

    Has anyone thought of the possibility that the the winning Oscars will be dominated by black films and actors this year? I seem to remember Hollywood taking some heat for a couple of years for not having any blacks nominated, or any black-themed movies that won. I don’t really follow the Oscars, so maybe this has changed.

    Anyway, I think it’s possible the voting members might want to “vote black” this year to prove they’re not racists. Any other thoughts out there about this? Seems possible to me.

    Great songs can start with cowbell – Mississippi Queen and Honky Tonk Women, two of the best cowbell songs.

    And the Ricochet winners of the 2017 Oscar’s Politicization Fantasy League are:

    @michaelbrehm 19 points

    @odysseus 18 points

    @eustacecscrubb 15 points

    In truth, we’re all losers. Or at least those of us watching the whole agonizing slog of the broadcast were losers. But the game was the thing and 11 instances of politicization were documented during the ceremony. Full details and stats coming in the next HWX broadcast later this week. Stay tuned!

    And winners, I’ll be sending a Ricochet message for contact info for the delivery of your glamorous prizes.

    Brian Ward (View Comment):
    In truth, we’re all losers.

    I can’t take losing lying down. I contacted Jill Stein, and she’s willing to spend one million dollars for a court challenge demanding that the HWX Experience recount the results of the contest so that I, Stad, can appear on the podcast as the winner.

    Now, some of you all may be upset, but there is a precedent (Florida 2000). However, she did stipulate that if we win the lawsuit, I must promote one liberal cause on the podcast.

    So, here is the new contest:

    Regardless of what I believe, I have to promote something liberal in case we win. Here are the topics, please vote:

    1. Pro man-made climate change
    2. Pro transgender rights (so self-identifying twenty-year-old randy men can share a locker room with young women at Gold’s Gym)
    3. Pro tax the rich (yawn)
    4. Pro planned parenthood (even thought they’re all about not becoming a parent), and finally,
    5. Require the wealthy – particularly Hollywood liberals – to hire felony-convicted illegal aliens to do the routine things around their Beverly Hills estates (lawn care, cooking, laundry, etc.)

    I like the last one, and it may be worth it to get that one promoted.

    Vote away!

    (Brian, Paul . . . I’ll leave it up to you two to tally the votes. Don’t screw it up this time.)
