Are transgenderism and feminism at odds? Are we living through another sexual revolution? Why have conservatives been so unsuccessful in fighting the “culture wars”? Scott Yenor, Professor of Political Science at Boise State University, joins Madison’s Notes to answer these questions and discuss his new book, “The Recovery of Family Life: Exposing the Limits of Modern Ideologies.”

His essay on Betty Friedan was quite good. I would suggest checking it out if you are fascinated on the origins of transgenderism. It’s also nice that an Academic can write lucidly and engagingly.

This is a good interview, but I’m two-thirds in, and I’ve yet to hear Yenor address the most obvious cause for the global fertility crisis and the general lack of family formation (and, of course, the reason why pornography is so popular): The invention of the Internet. We lead increasingly digital lives, and we grow increasingly isolated from the people who happen to live around us. It’s no wonder, then, that fewer of us marry or have children.

There can be no recovery of family life without a recovery of civil society, and there can be no recovery of civil society without an exodus (voluntary or otherwise) from social media. As long as Tinder remains the only option, civilization is doomed.

The answer to, “if you don’t believe in abortion, don’t have one,” is, “If you don’t believe in slavery, don’t buy one.”

    Indeed. You cannot escape morality.
