Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
What did Aristotle and Shakespeare mean to Harry Jaffa, and what might they mean to America? Can extremism be prudent? What is the nature of the crisis facing the West today? Glenn Ellmers, senior fellow with the Claremont Institute, joins the show to discuss his new book, “The Soul of Politics: Harry V. Jaffa and the Fight for America.”

Another truly fascinating discussion. I had heard of Jaffa but did not know the role he played in following Strauss in reinvigorating political philosophy. I look forward to reading Prof. Ellmers’s book and thank you for the podcast. Discovering Madison’s Notes and listening to the interviews (and often buying the books) has been a highlight of my 2021 and prompted to make a (modest) donation to the James Madison Program. Merry Christmas to you, Nino, and everyone at JMP. I look forward to continued learning in 2022.
