Love these guy, appreciate and enjoy the podcast, but as far as I can tell neither of them had actually read the published transcript of the call itself. Were they taking their cues from Schiff’s account or CNN’s reporting of the conversation? I get that we are all busy, but . . .

Have we ever provided foreign aid without expecting something in return?

We. Not I. The United States of America can expect many things in return from the countries that we help. The President of the United States cannot. If he does, that is an abuse of power and an impeachable offense.

Another tired episode of the Mad Dog and the Englishman chanting the mantra that Trump is “unfit for office.”

Neither one ever defines what “unfit for office” means.

It’s a shame. They’re both fine writers, but they’re intellectual cowards when it comes to this one issue that animates both of them.

At one point, Charles CW Cooke admitted that Hillary is also unfit for office. I daresay he’d agree that Trump’s unfitness for office is a lot better for America and the world than Hillary’s unfitness for office.
