Stand Up Guys

Say what you want about our intrepid podcasters but they are real stand up guys. For Toby, he’s fresh from his smash debut as a stand up comic, for James… well, he’s lucky just to be standing up, having spent the last couple of days battling what he’s sure is some Chinese bioweapon disease.

As for the rest of the show there’s Boris Johnson’s transformation from licentious hero to finger-wagging scold, the UK’s new Internet regulator, and the BBC’s strangely impressive suicide strategy. And of course the Oscars… Have you oppressed a cow today?

I know about the disappointing Huawei deal, but what’s HS 2? I hate it when I miss something important!

Very distressing news about Boris’s government. Must be bad what with Tobes—love that nickname—harmonizing with James on a rather declarative version of “We’ve been had!” (Can’t get too mad too quickly, though; there’s always Brexit to believe in.)

Plus going to all electric cars (not even any hybrids) and looking to go completely away from natural gas in about 30 years. I can see why they are despondent.

Shoot, except for the blatant anti-Semitism, they might as well have voted Labour. What’s come over the Tories?

So instead of extracting shale oil, you get your fossil fuels from Russia, Persia and the Arab world which have a history of bad environmental protections and horrific oppressions of gay people and religious and ethnic minorities.

Couldn’t the British oil companies fund a few wonderful gay parades and the entire British could have cheaper ethically extracted oil?
