As other countries and individual American States open up, Toby laments that his opposition to the lockdown, and his new website, LockdownSceptics.org, is gradually taking over his life. After a promising start with Brexit, James is starting to believe that this Government is the worst of his lifetime.

And that’s mostly due to the PM’s early about-face in response to Neil Ferguson and his Imperial College modeling. (Note: After the show was recorded Ferguson resigned his position for breaking the lockdown rules with his married lover.)

In our culture segment James enthuses about Parasite, while Toby gushes about The Last Kingdom.

    Married? Why is this relevant?

Basil Fawlty: Married? Why is this relevant?

Not to each other. If you’re going to force separation for non-household members throughout the country, it’s a bit hypocritical to engage in extramarital rumba-bumpy, isn’t it?

Sure. But whether the extramarital rumba-bumpy receptor is married or single doesn’t seem relevant to the degree of hypocrisy of violating plague restrictions.

Sixteen Candles seems dated today because it was so in tune with the time it was filmed in. All the characters are clad in what were then the idealized fashions of the day, talk in the style of the era, etc. Fads and trends come and go, and any movie that seeks to capture the essence of what is essentially transient is naturally going to lose its contemporary relevance fairly quickly.

This is true of many “teen” oriented films, as teenagers generally drive, shape, and participate in these trends more than adults. Rebel Without a Cause isn’t exactly timeless, either.

At around 28:00 you James was going on about how much the BBC loves science. The reason is that the left wants to replace G-d with science. Without G-d, people will not become atheist; they will make new gods. They like the power and obedience that religion gives without all the G-d stuff.

Tobes  (if I may)—my hero! Your efforts to base the lockdown strategy on reason is much appreciated. (Not that I should be surprised, given your amazing work on another pressing concern, education.) Ya’ll’s podcast really makes my day.

James and Toby are so witty and funny probably because of their accent.

To exaggerate the distinction, it’s like violating restrictions shopping at a grocery store vs. robbing a grocery store.
