It’s Grim Up North

This week on the UK’s Fastest Growing Podcast® James and Toby ruminate about the relationship between the English and the Scots and lament what the SNP has done to it – and that’s just the beginning of a very full show.

What does Donald Trump’s Covid diagnosis mean to the US election and what’s more of a threat – disease or Big Tech? (#DELETED: Big Tech’s Battle to Erase the Trump Movement and Steal the Election by Allum Bokhari)

We talk about Amnesty International’s report on Covid and Care Homes in the UK and a German lawyer’s blueprint to sue governments over their pandemic response. To wrap the Covid coverage, Sir Graham Brady (MP for Altrincham and Sale West) scores a victory for democracy in the House.

Finally, a new biography of the PM will hit UK bookstores on the 15th: Boris Johnson The Gambler by Tom Bower. The press previews have been interesting.

Opening sound this week is the Prime Minister’s appearance Sunday morning on BBC One’s The Andrew Marr Show.

I’m not getting audio? I could listen to the little teaser but the main one isn’t coming through. Thanks for any help.

So I only seem to be able to download the podcast rather than listening to it the regular way. Do I need to re-tweek something?

If it’s not playing in your browser then most likely it’s a browser caching issue. When you listen in the browser, what actually happens is your browser downloads the audio file to its cache folder. Clearing your browser cache will likely resolve this issue. Keep in mind, though, that that usually deletes your browser cookies as well, which will have the affect of logging you out of Ricochet and any other website you might be signed in to. (When you are “signed in” to a website, that really means the site has placed a cookie in your browser cache that the site can reference to determine if you’re signed in or not.)

However, the best solution, what I always recommend, is that you listen to the podcasts with a podcast app such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, or literally thousands of other options.

Great info on Boris. I listen to the BBC so why haven’t I heard about this? Also I’m beginning to think that women leaders (governors, PMs, whatever) are given more praise for what they are doing about the Covid even when it veers into totalitarianism. All part of women being strong leaders – even if they lead us into a totalitarian state. Apparently it will be a nicer totalitarian state than you get with men.
