You Can’t Lick It

It’s time for summer school in the faculty lounge and Professors Richard Epstein and John Yoo are reviewing the Supreme Court term that was. On this episode: was the census ruling a backdoor victory for critics of the administrative state? Are critics right that Alex Acosta should have done more to prosecute Jeffrey Epstein? John gives us one weird trick for determining when religious symbols are allowed on government property. And the professors weigh in on the legal repercussions of renegade ice cream licking. All that plus Epstein’s tips for how to defraud grocery stores, Yoo condemns a legendary American political figure to eternal damnation, and we get a faculty lounge review of Maine’s state soft drink.

OK I haven’t even listened but kudos (I think) for the title and photo (couldn’t Professor Epstein have gotten some muscled arms showing too? Maybe a tattoo just to be very au courant). And, of course, I look forward to seeing the Professors in front of the frozen foods at my local store soon.

Yoo is correct, especially if you come from a large family, in that licking food determines ownership. Also dibs on chairs, etc.

Thanks for the analysis of the cross case and others. Spanking is the correct punishment for the ‘lickers’ with caning for second offenses. However, I am not going to a store with and/or eating at John Yoo’s home.

And the @blueyeti found a classic–and very appropriate–“Weird Al” Yankovic song to end this podcast.

    An excellent choice, @blueyeti

I like the Weird Al song, but my immediate idea was Kiss, Lick It Up. I’m not sure which one is better in the circumstances.

It was too much effort to photoshop Richard Epstein’s actual arms on there, which I assure you are bulging with muscles and as covered with gang tattoos as you could please.

That amazingly mixed metaphor caught my attention too.

I suspect there’s an empirically demonstrable difference in adherence to this “natural law” between families of boys v. families of girls.

Weirdly, the guys are oblivious to the main reason why liberals are eager to force Alexander Acosta to resign from the Trump administration.

Acosta is the only Hispanic in Trump’s cabinet.

Backing him would probably have been the better move for Trump, just as he backed Brett Kavanaugh through even more vicious smears.

You have a good point @Taras but maybe Acosta is only a ‘white Hispanic’ so I guess it wouldn’t count. By the way, when did A Octavio-Cortez become a woman of color?

Ok, am I the only one to catch that Troy said the podcast would be moving to Hoover soon? What’s up with that?

Won’t change your listening experience any (except no commercials!). Show will still be posted at Ricochet.
