A friend of mine refers to NextDoor as the “I just saw a black man” site

I live in suburban Los Angeles and every problem devolves into a social justice NIMBY  battle.  “We have too many homeless people around” becomes a gang takedown of the person who posted it invoking privilege, people pushing for zoning of streets for parking because the coffeehouse is serving beer and wine and they don’t want “that bar crowd” parking in front of their house.

But yeah, go on to Yelp and you see businesses given one star (the example I’m thinking of is a 24 hour fitness)  “because Fox News was on” and someone will comment “did you ask them to change it” and the response was “the very fact they didn’t block it means it’s somewhere I don’t want to spend time”

Public space now has to be a safe space I guess

The next step will occur in your home, when a SJW calls the police because she can see Fox News on your living room TV . . .

Im new to your podcast…loved this episode! I have tuned out if social media for just these reasons! I like people much better when I don’t see them commenting on politics 😳. I quit FB last year and have sought alternatives, like ricochet and your podcast. Thanks!
