Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
Bethany Mandel and Lyndsey Fifield have been on the receiving end of a lot of online hate mobs (let’s be honest, Bethany’s gotten the worst of it) but they’ve also occasionally been mean girls, too. In the wake of Chrissy Teigan’s rapid fall from grace after years of tormenting people online (including Bethany!), we wonder… what DO we want to happen to bullies? Should there be a limit on cancelling someone for tweets they sent years ago?
WHEN is Lyndsey having this baby and is she actually in labor right now? Tuck in for another weird and wonderful episode of the LadyBrains podcast.
PS Bethany has a new podcast with Jon Gabriel called Edit This!

Oh. Yeah. Wow. Whatever. Like, can we please stop responding in these terms? Or in terms such as the self-revelatory “I’m an idiot.”
Mostly, in terms of strong women on the Right, I’d like to dismiss that argument. But, Bethany and Lyndsey, you’re making it difficult for me to do so.
Full disclosure: I couldn’t have kids. It didn’t really matter what Mr. She and I did in the way of “schtruggling” (hat tip Michelle) to talk about something called “Crissy Teagan” or “Mary Katherine” in that regard. Doesn’t matter how interesting or meaningful it was as first. Chrissy Teagen’s “wit” and the fact that she–someone who is famous because of who she married–somehow accumulated 100K subscribers at some point didn’t matter.
So, why are you giving it podcast space, as if it does?
I’m afraid that this podcast, in which two uptalking and indistinguishable women yap back and forth, enlightened me not at all.
I’m sad about that. Because, I think in general that the three of us might have had something in common. But it’s a factor of why I don’t listen to many podcasts, and don’t intend to in the future.
I mean, “Look at Jessica Alba.” And the “Alison Roman Thing.”
WTF is Jessica Alba? And WTF is the “Alison Roman Thing?”
“Know your audience.” Please.
Alison Roman Is ‘Deeply Sorry’ For Calling Chrissy Teigen And Marie Kondo Sellouts | HuffPost
Oh we do—feel free to join our Facebook listener group I’m sure you’d love it 😂
I realize politics is downstream from culture, but it is hard for me to care about what these women do. The exception is the barbarian Marie Kondo who wants to ban books. (I exaggerate a little).
I’m guessing you’re new here? Cuz if there’s one the Ladybrains know well, it’s their audience! This is my fave podcast & I’m so excited every week(ish) when a new ep drops. If it’s not for you, that’s cool. Just move on & let the rest of us enjoy ourselves, thanks.
LOL.
“Know your audience.” Probably not the wisest channel on which to argue with me.
I’ve been on Ricochet since December of 2010, One of the charter members, in fact. And, regardless (or irregardless as the case may be) one of the most read, and most popular.
Dunno about you. Oh, December 2018.
Listen, grasshopper. And learn.
She doesn’t!!! You can keep your books!!! 😂 I actually don’t think Kondo is minimalist ENOUGH!
This is generally how I feel about all things – I can’t imagine visiting a podcast I didn’t enjoy and leaving a 6 paragraph rant about it 😂 enjoy your life!! We looove you too Lisa!!
Six paragraphs? Hold my beer.
Pretty much textbook Left. Let’s alienate those with whom we might agree 80%, in order to virtue signal for the other 20.
Why I’m on record saying I don’t pay much attention to podcasts. If “selling” your own ideas isn’t such isn’t a priority for you (apparently it’s not), then, you might want to consider the financial interests of your friends. LOL.
Don’t bother contacting me in Spring/Summer of 2024. I have other things to do. Most of the folks reading this know what they are. Good day.
Kondo would go nuts if she saw the books in my personal libraries. But every single one of them bring me joy, even “Irrigation Frontier” by Henry A Wallace.
And that’s all that matters!! On the day I got engaged I picked up a book called Ex Libris and on the cab ride to work I read a short story about a married couple of book lovers who merged their book collections many years after keeping them separate … I dreamt of what it would be like to merge my books with my husband’s when we moved in together. And then a few days later all my books were lost when I moved (by tragic mistake). We’ve been “building back” and my husband has more than enough books for any normal household but I think you can never have too many. Vases, shoes, purses, can openers? Kondo your heart out—but if books spark joy KEEP THEM ALL and guard them with your life ♥️
You have a lucky husband.
Enjoyed the discussion about C Teigan, dealing with ‘life’ on the internet, etc. I really had only a vague idea about Teigan and then someone (I’ve forgotten who – sorry) wrote a post on Ricochet about her and the whole situation. I’m glad I don’t really know much more. I have told my husband (probably too often) that you don’t have to have many ‘followers’ or people who will buy your stuff or whatever to be a celebrity or known in the US and the world. Oh and Bethany, I’m with you. She is not hot. Meanwhile please report on the baby situation. Inquiring minds want to know – was Lyndsey in labor or what? Maybe the producer can post something?
Can confirm was not in labor! Am now 41 weeks and going strong :) haha!
Good luck and someone keep us informed.
