Many congratulations to Emily! Sounds like you’ll be the best mom ever.

I hope this podcast helps brings some women to Ricochet or that it gets played elsewhere as I think the demographics here might not complete align very well.

(First time I really wanted to fast forward through a Ricochet commercial for other reasons.)

Oh my goodness, that episode was so cute, ladies!

First, Big Big Congratulations to your husband and you, Emily! We will pray that God gives you strength, support and peace during this time, and that His will is for you to have a super easy pregnancy.

So, I’m not a LadyBrain, but I identified with a lot of what y’all were talking about. We also experienced the pain of miscarriage and trying for 5-6 years (hence naming our son, Samuel). It definitely caused some anxiety right in the beginning and my wife didn’t want me to post anything on Facebook or even tell anyone for a while. I understood but talked her out of it for the same reason you mentioned. I thought we needed prayers and support, and she agreed. I just talked with her after sending her this episode to listen to and she said the anxiety went away quickly afterwards though.

Twins are great! Really really great! Harder in some ways but honestly for the most part we think they’re easier. I’m not clairvoyant like Bethany, and of course two little girls would be awesome, but I’m going to hope for a boy and girl. That is so interesting and so much fun to see a boy and girl growing up side-by-side along with the personality differences.

OK, so… to answer the question about what to expect, one thing I can tell you is expect some very different expressions from people at the end, especially if you go full-term like my wife. We would always laugh when we would walk by people because in the beginning people would inevitably walk by, look at her belly, light up and smile. That turned to shock and sometimes even horror there at the end! Like, “Wow, this woman is literally about to burst!”

My beautiful wife pregnant with our twins.

Whoa! I haven’t listened to the podcast yet, but congratulations!

I don’t know what kind of car you have, but make sure it has more room than Bethany’s Altima. Hey, you’re having two, so you need the extra room. Just in case. You know, stuck in traffic on the way to the hospital, and it starts. Just sayin’. Okay, I’ll shut up now . . .

I finally got around to listening to the podcast. I couldn’t stop laughing, especially Emily’s reaction when the doctor made the announcement about “Baby Number One . . .”

Emily, I’m sure you’ve gotten tons of advice, so I’ll throw in my ten cents worth. Make sure you have a good vehicle to get you safely and quickly to the hospital. I would recommend a Nissan Altima, based on @bethanymandel and her experience. However, just in case the weather gets really bad, I suggest this mod (Bethany may consider it for her next):
