I predict the next Ladybrains baby will be born at Politicon, and it will involve a car.
I very much like this series of LadyBrains baby podcasts, as our daughter gave birth to her first child (our first grandchild) on May 29 – C-Section after 28 hours of labor. We just returned from ten days visiting them (they wanted two weeks to themselves before having visitors).
Their big challenge is that baby really, really, really wants to sleep on a person, and not in the bassinet, which makes it hard for the parents to sleep. Besides cooking, cleaning bathrooms, and cleaning up the yard, we were able to hold baby so our daughter could take naps.
Bethany, I firmly believe God has designed some people to be parents of matny children. Our daughter’s boss and his wife have ten children, which they feel called to do. No twins, fairly evenly spaced every 18 months. They are calm, and she (the wife/mother) has always felt comfortable with pregnancy. They decided to stop when the got to the point of simultaneously having one child in college, and one in diapers.
Parenting got a lot easier for me when I just embraced that they want to be on me every second. My babies sleep in my bed and are in my baby carrier – we are almost never physically separated. It’s annoying, but they also are much much easier to deal with.
I can think of no better compliment! Thank you!
