Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
At the Ricochet – AEI Podcast Summit last week, Bethany, Lyndsey, and Mary Katharine discuss Bethany’s crazy trip down to DC, detoxing from social media, and then empty their purses in front of the audience; you won’t want to miss what’s inside.

I lived in Colorado for 20 years (1970-1990) and my car had a “Don’t Californicate Colorado” bumper sticker on it and I never had my car damaged. In contrast to my “Close Rocky Flats” (if you lived in Colorado during the 1980s you know what I mean) which resulted in two comprehensive insurance claims.
Love the Ladybbrains and have listened since Day 1!
@bethanymandel, the next time you play the orphan card, you should tell people your grandmother used to send you minivan tires and motor oil . . .
that would’ve made her useful. #imgoingtohell
And thank goodness you and your family were safe after that incident. A tire blowing out at high speed can be dangerous. OTOH, if you were on the B-W Parkway, odds are you weren’t going at high speed . . .
Long time Ladybrains fan and podcasts like this one is illustrative of why. Good talk (which reminds me of no Sethany podcast this week). Been a Mary Katherine fan since she was on an Ace of Spades podcast a long time ago and the rest of the Ladybrains just kinda grow on ya…
I enjoyed the “purse explosion” segment. I liked all the Mommy things in Bethany’s. But, did I hear correctly that Lyndsey had an entire dress in her purse? That suggests either a very large purse or a very small dress.
Once our children were old enough that at diaper bag was no longer needed, Mrs. Tabby insisted on carrying no more than a very small purse, so the concept of large purses is foreign to me.
I suspect neither Bethany nor her husband Seth have enough inclination to pay attention to their cars to keep them safe. They probably should have a friend who is at least modestly car-interested look over the cars (the minivan and the infamous Altima) every couple of weeks for them to make sure that everything looks normal (tire pressure (including the spare – I’m surprised a spare tire so long ignored had enough air pressure to function), oil, coolant, and brake fluid levels, etc.).
