Unconfirmed

Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel and Heatstreet’s Stephen Miller chat about Trump’s escalating war with the press, his big Florida rally over the weekend, and CPAC’s decision to invite, then disinvite, Milo Yiannopoulos. (Shockingly, CPAC invited neither of The Conservatarians to deliver a keynote address.)

Our intro and outro music is “All My Friends” by LCD Soundsystem. Jon’s song of the week is “Vote Thatcher” by American Wrestlers and Stephen’s is “Swim” by Surfer Blood. Can you defend the position that Trump’s policies are any less conservative than those of, say, John McCain or Marco Rubio?  Other than just repeating over and over again that Trump is not conservative.

Allmusic.com agrees with Steven about Surfer Blood, with their debut Astro Coast as their best and a gradual drop-off from there. Surf guitar and noisy indie pop sounds like The Pixies. I’ll have to check them out.

A friend of mine went to CPAC in the 80s. He says it was a completely different environment.

Basically Reagan would make his cabinet go and they would make speeches and take Q+A’s from activists. Now that sounds like a conference I would attend.

You want to compete? Why doesn’t Ricochet host a conference.  The cruises are just a bit to expensive.  But host a conference in DC and let Richochet members to attend.  Id go to that.
