    Yep, the virus has escaped the lab, as they say.  How anybody was able to persuade himself that toxic “woke” doctrine would remain a campus phenomenon forever is beyond me, but many Conservatives did.  And still do.

    You guys convinced me to ignore everything Ms. Cortez says as it’s more annoying than it is important to anything, and now you’re talking about Taylor Swift who I mostly already managed to ignore.  Cynically, I think she’s just doing what she needs to do to keep her startdom blazing.  She’s not quite Bono or Angelina Jole in the seriousness of her advocacy (yet) – or even Leonardo DiCaprio, so why did you talk about her. Is pop really in the line of the music you talk about.

    Of much more serious note to your listeners would be David Gahan’s statements about how Brexit and Trump motivated some of their more recent songs…

    It’s curious that neither of you talked about The Cure in your interviews Political Beats.

    I almost quit using Firefox when they went after that Brendan Eich for daring to have a different opinion, but there was no good alternative for me at the time, and I still use it – but I wouldn’t mind if my browser of choice was a little less ‘woke’…

    I am obsessed with the Oberlin story and hoping it will be a template of what to do in these situations – I hope the Covington young man’s lawyers are looking at this.  Why didn’t Eich sue?  Had enough money and didn’t care?  Its California and no one would give him a fair shake?

    I work for PSU, the home of our collective hero Michael Mann. In the last year or so they have really amped up the ‘diversity’ awareness campaigns.

    My company (one of these large corporations you speak of) sent out an email asking people to voluntarily out themselves to HR. I really don’t see how that’s anyone’s business, especially my employer.

    I ignore all their “ally” BS sent to my inbox. Thankfully no one has asked me to “wear the ribbon” a la Seinfeld in person.

    I actually made an email filter that filters any mass mailings where the body contains the word ‘diversity’ to a separate folder and mark it as read, so that I can hopefully not notice it. So, I try to ignore all the in you face diverimania and it sort of works, but it still very much annoys me.

    Oberlin is the exception that proves the rule that French’s approach is a dead end.  Miller spends too much time tweeting and two little time thinking deeply about things.  Lawsuits are expensive and the courts are not level playing fields.

    John Podhoretz of Commentary Magazine has said that he believes the Oberlin situation was a kind of “perfect storm” of circumstances that allowed Conservatives to carry the day in court, but that such storms are as rare as hen’s teeth and that it’s probably unwise to count on them recurring.

    That said, I’m not sure what the rational, civilized alternative to the “David French approach” is.  Thuggish behavior?  Behavior that, were I to engage in or condone it, I’d have a hard time facing the mirror every morning?  No thank you.
