Steve is a senior resident scholar at the Institute of Governmental Studies at UC Berkeley, and a visiting professor at the Goldman School of Public Policy. He writes daily on Powerline Blog, hosts the Power Line podcast, and will soon release his latest book, M. Stanton Evans: Conservative Wit, Apostle of Freedom.

    Not sure when this was recorded but Steve must be subject to a gag order in relation to discussions about his spat with Paul-who-hasn’t-been-seen-publicly-since Mirengoff on Powerline…Also, excellent Russia commentary by Jon at the end.

    Jon: were you channeling the late Harry Reid when you had your, er, bar fight? I did always think Harry got beaten up by some thugs but I believe you – sorta.

    I like Steve’s take on Trump not needing to run. It is a different political situation than when Grover Cleveland came back after a term away. Trump would be a one term President, not just because of age, but also Constitutional term limits. Fresh blood who has learned from Trump’s positive aspects and also what not to do would be good.
