I once had some starlings harassing beloved woodpeckers to try to stress them into surrendering their nest in a hollowed branch.
This injustice was taking place just over the property line in a tree in my neighbor’s yard. Much like Nixon’s decision to order our troops to cross into Cambodia to clean out enemy sanctuaries, I chose to act.
Some well placed pellets took out the loudest of the invaders and a second hit ended the matter. Fortuitously, a cat removed the casualties before I needed to do so. Thus, peace, justice and plausible deniability ensued.
Yahoo’s stock isn’t going to tank. It’s already in the tank.
The pigeon spikes arrived today. Rue the day you pooped on my car, filthy fowl. Rue. The. Day.
Thank you. re French, conservatives need to make it known they aren’t to be taken for granted because Hillary is worse. When you give your vote so freely, you will not have a seat at the table. I am not like 93% of blacks who vote Dem. The Trumpies have mocked my candidate (Cruz), my values, and now a conservative writer who shares my views. They want me to believe Reaganism is dead and that it is my fault if Hillary is elected. They don’t like my values so let them do without my vote. I don’t stay home. A vote for French is better than leaving it blank and it is a vote for my principles. I am resigned that I lost when Cruz dropped out. They claim to want anti-establishment but stabbed Cruz in the back. Who knows what they want other than to exercise their own totalitarian bent. It isn’t my responsibility to save them from themselves.
I would be checking Pinterest for pigeon recipes.
While I’m sympathetic to the argument that NeverTrumpers should stay out in order to let Trump fail on his own, I’m not entirely convinced.
1) Hypothetically, let’s say no third parties run on either side. In order for Trump’s brand of alt-right nationalism to be squelched, by how much of a landslide will he need to lose to Hillary to silence cries of election fraud? 10% If it’s 51/49–Hillary, I don’t see anyone learning lessons. Should I then vote for Hillary in order to make it finally sink in? If Trump does just as well as Romney, won’t his brand be mainstreamed anyway?
2) If French doesn’t run and Johnson pulls 10 or even 5%, why wouldn’t Trump and his followers be just as angry and in denial about their viability? Surely some NeverTrumpers will vote libertarian and Johnson will then be blamed.
I would love to vote strategically in such a way as to help the alt-right learn a lesson, but that presupposes that the alt-right and Trump himself have that capacity.
