Preparation for Coronavirus is essential. Panic? Not so much. Jon welcomes his old friend from the blogging trenches Jim Lakely, now the Vice President and Director of Communications of the Heartland Institute, to discuss the media’s abysmal job at covering a pandemic. Prior to joining Heartland, Lakely spent 16 years in daily-deadline journalism, covered Capitol Hill, and was a member of the White House Press Corps for The Washington Times. Follow him on Twitter!
The intro/outro song of the week is, of course, “Panic” by The Smiths. To listen to all the music featured on The Conservatarians this year, subscribe to our Spotify playlist!

The thing is, we all know everything’s crazy, except for us.
Enjoyed it.

Thanks, Leslie. It was great fun being on with my buddy Jon. Hope do to it again soon.
Russia, Covington High, without Net Neutrality people will die, Ukraine and impeachment, etc.. etc. And now we’re supposed to believe these people are telling us the truth? Jeez…
Anyway, great episode, and I washed my hands after I finished listening to it.
@jongabriel relief t0 hear logic and common sense
Panic is all they have.
In normal times democrats have fear to keep their base interested in voting for them, but nobody is really afraid of Donald Trump. This year is worse than normal, because not only are they democrats, but their candidate is Joe Biden…. They need to scare their base like Wes Craven to get them to vote.
Glad to hear that extra handwashing has no merit in coronavirus protection. I’m sick of it.
I guess it depends what “extra” means. A lot of people probably don’t ever wash as much as they normally should.
All positives will be because of government intervention
All negatives will be because of Trump
Going to find an audiobook of Marcus Aurelius
And then I read where OCD people who are trying to quit handwashing so much are stressed out right now.
I was being sarcastic. It’s irresponsible to not wash your hands more right now. Hand sanitizer is a distant second, too.
I think this podcast was most like the old ones with Stephen Miller, except Jon actually got to talk. Jim was a great guest!
