Nicole Neily on Free Speech

The Conservatarians welcome Nicole Neily, president of Speech First, a new group defending students’ free speech rights on campus. Nicole was formerly the president of the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity, executive director and senior fellow at the Independent Women’s Forum, and manager of external relations for the Cato Institute. Jon and Stephen also discuss the mess that is The Atlantic’s hiring/firing of Kevin Williamson — with a bonus Pulp Fiction clip.

The intro/outro music is “Corporation” by Jack White. Jon’s song of the week is “RyBro” by Helvetia and Stephen’s is by “Pristine” by Snail Mail. To listen to all the music featured on The Conservatarians, subscribe to our Spotify playlist!

Hey there @exjon – since the topic came up, are you on the side of your buddy ‘Sam,’ or do you think that it needs to be the woman’s choice? I know Miller has said he believes that it’s the latter. I’d assumed you did too as I thought that the libertarian part of conservatarian implies as much – but Cooke identifies the same way you two do and in the “throwback” Mad Dogs episode he was clear that he’s pro-life.

Uggh. This is a podcast for podcasters. Next time, less inside baseball and more thoughts on the big picture.
