I love and look forward to this podcast every week.
I liked Greg’s picks a lot, especially Beaches. I have him to thank for introducing me to Devin Townsend. Listening to Lea Porcelain is like going back to the late 80s with New Order, The Cure, and Sisters of Mercy. Kedr Livanskiy sounds interesting, and I’m now following her on Spotify. Thanks, @exjon for that rec. I hadn’t listened to Slowdive since Souvlaki; it’s good to know they are still making great music. I loved Gary Numan when I was in college, so The Horrors are right up my alley. Kudos to @redsteeze for picking The Shout Out Louds to close out this playlist – it’s nice to finish on an up note. The only clunker is Kendrick Lamar. I don’t care how many awards he is going to win, I will never like hip hop.
Did anyone catch my fellow Nashvillians’, All Them Witches, new album, Sleeping Through the War? “Bulls” is what the Allman Bros. Band would sound like if they were shoegazers.
Any time I got a press release that said “shoegaze”…circular file.
I still love you.
